Father’s Day in the UK

So when asked about the things I’d miss about the UK it appears I have to play my cards close to my chest for fear of reprisal by the tabloid newspapers both here and in Australia!

I’ll be totally honest and say that I’m going to miss my family though, especially my two nephews and my niece and they’ll be so much bigger when I get home! We all went out for a farewell lunch on Father’s Day at my favourite local haunt, The Trooper Inn.

I decided to come to australia anyway, and right now i´m starting a new proyect… it´s a social net specialized in places and events. The idea is that users will mark their favorite places on a map and will add media content to that zpotz… in few words, this web site i´m talking to you is a WALL (as the facebook wall), but not centered in people, but places.

Now I´m in Sydney, working on the site (there are few bugs that we are working on, but the site as a hole is working just fine), and in few days I`ll start traveling trought the east coast to Cairns. I`ll be using this trip to test my site.

You will get to celebrate fathers day in Australia again on September 6th. I wonder why the UK celebreates it USA style and who do we follow here downunder.

Its a very standard template which is used in WordPress – a superb blog editing platform, the basics are the same and then you can customise all the individual things from there.
