I touched down in Barcaldine, Queensland at 1.30pm this afternoon on a bit of a mission.

A day isn’t much time to get anything substantial done but I’m here to help launch a new product called ‘Oi’ which the tourism industry here in the Outback are rolling out to enable people to find out more about the remote communities and opportunities which are available out here.

With sometimes hundreds of km’s between locations it’s often difficult for places to learn about their neighbours.

No rest for me though, today is International Student Day in Brisbane as we welcome 3,500 of them to the city to start the new year here.

I’ll be giving a quick speech to them all telling them why it’s such a great place to live, and I don’t have to lie!

I feel safe here, I can keep my fitness training going in outdoor pools and on the cycle and running tracks, I’ve just found a new place to live in West End and the sun shines for 300 days of every year – we just haven’t seen it for a week or so!

Anjaan, one of the Best Job finalists arrived in the city yesterday so we’re hitting the town together tonight and can’t wait.

Just had a chance to catch up with one of Australias famous faces, Michael Kasprovich. He played cricket for the Green Caps and humiliated English batters for years!

After a two hour Bullet Train ride from Osaka I’ve arrived back in the capital to make a presentation to the Chambers of Commerce here all about the Best Job.

Stayed up too late last night watching the Winter Olympics and replying to emails so feeling shattered.

Time for a double espresso me thinks!
